The Cruising Association hired us to help complete their website's upgrade with bespoke functionality and a new modern responsive design. We proactively sought to build up an understanding together so that we could tease out the CA's underlying needs.

We provided guidance on the latest best practices in Drupal development to save on costs and reduce risk. We advised on where good modules from the community could be used, and created improvements and fixes for them where necessary.

Updates to the page editing system needed to respect that many of the site's editors are not technical, and that much of the content was built for an outdated design framework. Typical approaches to building content would not necessarily be appropriate to impose on this project. We are not going to force one-size-fits-all solutions on our clients!
We created a composable system of HTML components built on the Bootstrap framework with utility classes like those in Tailwind CSS, to give authors power and flexibility. Components could be dropped into any of the many existing content types without needing content model changes, retaining full compatibility with migrated legacy content whilst facilitating beautiful landing pages.

Building a partnership often means having fun conversations together in Slack! Our ticketing management system also allows more focused discussion within the context of specific issues, and easy project management. We're relaxed about how to run projects; whether that means doing things in the way that a client already has established (such as being embedded within an existing development team), or in our preferred agile fashion. But regardless of the 'how', we deliver time and again.
We'll meet you where you're at
We slot into your existing workflows and tool usage where necessary - such as adapting to the CA's specific deployment process. For other clients, we've adhered to standards imposed by automated code quality checks, joined daily stand-ups, and used all kinds of project management software.
Then we'll discuss adding suitable improvements with you. For example, on this project, that meant fixing headaches with Configuration Management, package managers and version control. Elsewhere, we've scripted tests, implemented transparent work prioritisation, and added monitoring for connectivity and security.
