We don't often post random stuff on here, but this has been amusing us in the office, we thought you might like it too ...

File this one under "slightly annoying but can't be helped", after a fun day of upgrading sites to 5.4 we find that 5.5 has been released!  Fixing a fairy hefty bug in the taxonomy term RSS feeds introduced by 5.4 you can't really not upgrade ... at least we know what we will be doing today :)

Its been a day for Drupal releases.  The most important for our clients is the release of Drupal 5.4, which fixes a possible SQL injection vulnerability (its one of those obscure ones which shouldn't affect too many people hopefully).

We are excited to get the chance to work with the guys down at companyX on a number of exciting Drupal projects.   We can't go into too many details yet, but watch this space ...

Drupal 5.3 was released early this morning, fixing a number of security issues and a number of other small bugs (all the fun feature stuff is only being added to Drupal 6!).

Computerminds are proud to be members of the Drupal association and encourage all our clients to contribute as well. The Drupal association was established to help the Drupal community with funding, infrastructure, events, promotion and distribution. It has already made a significant difference to the invaluable drupal.org site with contributions of some lovely new hardware.

We are very pleased to announce that we will be working with Surrey based CTN (charity trustee network) to revamp and refresh their current Drupal site.

Booktribes continues to grow, and we get another (albeit quite small!) mention in the Guardian

Computerminds are delighted to be working on a new site for the York based training company Highlander, not least because of the fun we can have saying "there can be only one" at every given opportunity.

Computerminds are proud to be working on the relaunch of the excellent content-wire site.  The site has been going since 2001 and in its own words is a niche editorial product covering narrow vertical technology sectors, e-business, new economy and cyberculture. 

Computerminds are pleased to be acting as Drupal consultants for the London based design firm Realworks media.  By using Computerminds for the hardcore Drupalizing, Realworks are able to concentrate on delivering the high impact designs they do best.

Its only a small mention, but its a mention none the less ... in the letters page of Thursday's (29th March) guardian. And a small link on the their website too

SvD one of the main national newspapers in Sweden ran a big story on Booktribes in both the print and online version.

Computerminds are pleased to take on plus7 - a major English language Russian based magazine - as our latest client.

Plus7 are looking to bring their popular magazine to the web, and Drupal with its powerful CMS features and easy customisation is the logical choice.

The new site (to be released on plus7.eu) is to feature everything you might expect from a modern magazine site, with the addition of paid directory listings pages (to generate some revenue) and a fully featured classifieds section.

The site is due to be released in early April, which gives us some time to brush up on our Russian ...

We are pleased to announce that this month Computerminds have gone global - taking on clients in North America, India and Israel!

The Minds carried out a rapid Drupal upgrade on the popular http://wwww.anthropology.net - taking the site from a creaking 4.6 based banger to a whiz bang super fast 5.1 based speed machine.

We've come up with a brilliant competition with the booktribes guys running throughout the whole of March. Its been 2 months since the release of Drupal 5 and we have been busy upgrading plenty of client's sites, but as is so often the case we neglected our own!

Booktribes (http://www.booktribes.com) - the social networking site for booklovers has been featured on the industry site Vecosys

When a crack team of bookphiles came up with a brilliant idea for a new social networking site, who did they call to implement it? Well, ComputerMinds of course - based on our impressive portfolio of Drupal based sites, and our ability to cut out the geek speak and tell it like it really is. And the result? One of the hotest sites for 2007 - booktribes. "Booktribes is a social network built around books, and more specifically the books you are reading at the moment. The idea being you can see who is reading the same books as you and chat to them, or (if your shy!) see the people who have similar tastes in books and then see what else they have read."

ComputerMinds are partnering with Bristol based EPOS supplier Bristec in the development of an ecommerce plug-in for their popular BOSS system.
